Exploration diamond drilling, or diamond core drilling, is a technique used in the mining industry to probe the contents of known ore deposits and potential sites. Diamond drilling has revolutionized the mining industry and directly resulted in the discovery of many minable orebodies that would otherwise have gone untapped. A cylindrical bit with embedded industrial diamonds rotates at the end of a drill rod or pipe.
