At Drillit Africa Limited, the health and safety of our employees is our top priority. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors, visitors, and anyone else affected by our operations.
To achieve this, we pledge to
➢ Compliance -We will comply with all applicable health and safety laws, regulations, and standards, as well as any additional requirements we voluntarily adopt.
➢ Risk Management -We will identify, assess, and manage workplace hazards to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses. This includes conducting regular risk assessments, implementing control measures, and providing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
➢ Training and Education -We will provide comprehensive safety training and education to all employees, contractors, and other relevant personnel to ensure they have the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their work safely. This includes training on hazard recognition, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
➢ Communication and Consultation – We will foster open communication and consultation between management, employees, and relevant stakeholders on safety matters. Employees will be encouraged to report safety concerns, near misses, and incidents without fear of reprisal, and their feedback will be taken seriously.
➢ Safety Responsibilities – We will clearly define roles and responsibilities for safety within the organization and hold all employees accountable for their safety performance. Management will lead by example and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety at all levels of the organization.
➢ Emergency Preparedness -We will develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures to effectively respond to accidents, injuries, natural disasters, and other emergencies. This includes conducting drills and exercises to ensure readiness and coordination.
➢ Health Promotion -We will promote employee health and well-being by providing resources and support for physical and mental health, including access to wellness programs, counselling services, and ergonomic assessments.
➢ Continuous Improvement -We will regularly monitor and review our safety performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed to prevent the recurrence of incidents and improve safety outcomes.
➢ Contractor and Supplier Safety -We will hold contractors and suppliers to the same high standards of safety as our employees and ensure they comply with our safety requirements while working on our premises or behalf of our company.
➢ Community Engagement – We will engage with our local communities to promote safety awareness, share best practices, and contribute to initiatives that enhance overall safety and well-being.
